About the Organization
How one little chihuahua started a movement (in the backyard, by the fence).
It started with a tail flick
StopTheSquirrels.org was founded by Dexter, a small but extremely determined chihuahua who lives in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. One sunny morning, a squirrel sat on the fence, looked Dexter dead in the eye, and flicked its tail. Dexter has not been the same since.
What began as a few loud barks turned into a full-blown campaign. Today, our mission is simple: to put a stop to the squirrel menace, one bark at a time.
Our timeline of justice
The Incident
A squirrel makes eye contact, flicks its tail, and steals an acorn. Dexter vows to do something about it.
The Bark Heard ’Round the Yard
Dexter barks for fourteen straight minutes. The squirrel does not leave. The neighbors do.
The Founding of StopTheSquirrels.org
With the help of The Human (and a laptop), Dexter officially founds the organization. First order of business: snacks.
Today
Thousands of barks later, the campaign is stronger than ever. The squirrels remain undefeated. For now.

Frequently asked questions
Are you actually against ALL squirrels?
Dexter is against the ones on his fence. The rest are free to live their lives, as long as they do it far away and quietly. We have nothing against squirrels in general. (Dexter would like to clarify that this is not true.)
Is this a real organization?
It is as real as the treats Dexter is owed! This is a tongue-in-cheek parody website. The dog is 100% real, the cause is 100% pretend, and the whole site is an example of the kind of fun, fast, affordable websites we can build for small businesses.
How can I help the cause?
Sign up on our Join Us page, grab some gear in the shop, and bark at the nearest squirrel. Moral support from fellow dogs is always welcome.
Do squirrels know about the campaign?
Rumor has it they have seen the website. A squirrel was spotted smirking at a laptop last Tuesday.
